Histological profiles of spinal cords. Mice were treated as described in Figure 1a and perfused with PBS and phosphate-buffered formalin at the end of the experiment. Spinal cords were harvested, fixed in 10% formalin, and embedded in paraffin. Five-micrometer-thick paraffin sections were stained with both Luxol fast blue and cresyl violet.
