The biosynthesis of ubiquinone (Q) and the functional consequences of Q-deficiency was
studied in the yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae. Lipid extracts were prepared from various
respiratory deficient mutants grown in the presence of p-[U-14C] hydroxybenzoic acid. Q
