BACKGROUND: Sialic acid–binding immunoglobulin-like lectins (Siglecs) are a family of
glycan-binding inhibitory receptors, and among them, Siglec-8 is selectively expressed on
human eosinophils, basophils, and mast cells. On eosinophils, Siglec-8 engagement
