The electrospray mass spectrometry of a C-terminal peptide purified from the scrapie isoform
of the scrapie prion protein is described. As well as the 3 forms of glycosylinositol
phospholipid (GPL) previously identified, a further two forms were identified by high
resolution tandem mass spectrometry that differed from the original forms by the addition of a
sialic acid. Electrospray mass spectrometry revealed 3 molecular species of GPL present at

Abstract
