OBJECTIVE: To elucidate the role of maternal and neonatal iron status on placental
transferrin receptor (TfR) expression. STUDY DESIGN AND OUTCOMES: Ninety-two healthy
pregnant adolescents (ages 14–18 years) were followed across pregnancy. Maternal iron
