METHODS The patients were ten to 61 years old (Table I) and included three who had
diabetes, several who had ischemic heart disease and past myocardial infarctions and three
who were undergoing retransplantation. The causes of the renal failure were variable, as in
our past experience, with chronic glomerulonephritis being the most common. All of the
recipients had been receiving chronic dialysis.
