Ovarian cancers with BRCA mutations rely on the alternative DNA repair mechanism of the
poly (adenosine diphosphate-ribose) polymerases (PARP)–dependent base excision repair
pathway, with a better overall survival and response to chemotherapy, than BRCA1-
