Background: Heparin-induced thrombocytopenia (HIT) is a life-threatening thrombotic illness
caused by drug-dependent antibodies recognizing complexes of platelet factor 4 (PF4) and
heparin. Little is known about the immune pathogenesis of HIT, in particular factors
