Activation of protein kinase C (PKC) by exposure of cultured human corneal epithelial cells
to phorbol 12-myristate 13-acetate (PMA) resulted in an increase in paracellular
permeability as evidenced by a decrease in transepithelial electrical resistance (TER). A
