This article addresses the present concepts regarding treatment of the more common
neuromuscular diseases in children and young adults. These evolving strategies will likely
be refined over time. Some are surrounded with debate, and differences are discussed.
Treatment is predicated on accurate diagnosis, particularly genetic diagnosis, which is
