Dear Sir: The contribution of resident hepatobiliary stem/progenitor cells (HSPCs) to the
restoration of hepatocyte mass remains a contentious subject. On one hand, abundant
hepatocyte repopulation from HSPCs has been confirmed in late stage human disease
