Abstract l Mouse models of cystic fibrosis that are generated by targeted disruption
(knockout) of the cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator gene, cftr (-/-),
typically die shortly after weaning, from intestinal obstruction/rupture caused by an inability
