Giardiasis is one of the most common intestinal protozoan infections worldwide. The
etiological agent, Giardia duodenalis (syn. Giardia lamblia, Giardia intestinalis), is a
flagellated, binucleated protozoan parasite which infects a wide array of mammalian hosts
