Giant cell tumor (GCT) of bone is a benign but locally aggressive tumor that usually involves
the end of long bone. Its histogenesis remains unclear. It is characterized by a proliferation
of mononuclear stromal cells and the presence of many multinucleated giant cells with
homogenous distribution. The name giant cell tumor was suggested by Cooper and Travers
