Cardiovascular calcification is a common consequence of diabetes. High fat diets induce
diabetes and arterial calcification in male low density lipoprotein receptor (LDLR)–/–mice;
calcification occurs via Msx2 signaling that promotes the osteogenic differentiation of arterial
