The adverse effect of pregnancy on macrophage activation

Recently a remarkable decrease in the resistance to infection with Listeria monocytogenes
and Toxoplasma gondii in pregnant mice was demonstrated. Since activated macrophages
are important in the resistance against these organisms, studies were performed to
