Six cases are described of complete occlusion of sclerotic coronary arteries by intramural
arterial hemorrhage without thrombosis. An additional case is presented in which there was
a combination of intramural hemorrhage and thrombosis of the left coronary artery. Death
was directly attributable to the coronary lesion in all cases although in three there was no
myocardial infarction. Attention is called to the probable importance of intramural arterial
hemorrhage in the pathogenesis of coronary thrombosis.
