BACKGROUND/AIMS: The pathogenetic mechanisms of development of non-alcoholic
steatohepatitis (NASH) and fibrosis are not clear, although thrombosis of small intrahepatic
veins has been suggested to trigger liver tissue remodelling and thrombotic risk factors have
