Editor: in patients 20-59 years of age, and then increased to 5.8 percent at 60-69 years, 9.4
percent at 70-79 years and reached as high as 16.5 percent at 80 years and older. Clinically
apparent second primary cancers in different organs or tissues were observed at an average
annual incidence rate of 10.9 per 1,000. This figure was comprised of 368 skin cancers
(3.0/1,000/year) and 981 cancers originating in other sites (7.9/1,000/year).
