Conversion of chylomicrons into remnants

The turnover of chylomicrons in the blood is the sum of several processes. The native
chylomicron is synthezised in the intestine out of available substrates. When the chylomicron
enters the circulation exchanges of apolipoproteins with other lipoproteins, it also binds to
the vascular endothelium where the chylomicron is lipolyzed by lipoprotein lipase. After a
short period in the circulation the chylomicron/chylomicron remnant appears to be available
