Recently, receptor protein tyrosine phosphatase-σ (RPTPσ) has been shown to inhibit axon
regeneration in injured peripheral nerves. Unlike the peripheral nervous system (PNS),
central nervous system (CNS) neurons fail to regenerate their axons after injury or in
