nuclear lamina proteins by farnesylation. The lamina provides a general framework for
nuclear envelope organization and serves as a regulator of growth and differentiation. The
nuclear lamina is ubiquitous in eukaryotes. It can be isolated from nuclei following nuclease
digestion and extraction with nonionic detergent and high salt concentrations. The lamina
