Umbelical cord blood lymphocytes showed consistent proliferation in response to
Dermatophagoides group I (Der p I) and occasionally even to Lolium group I (Lol p I)
allergen. These data suggest sensitization in utero of T cells due to inhalation of these
allergens by the mother during pregnancy.
