Methods are described for the preparation of sheets of pure epidermis and of epidermal cell
suspensions which can be transplanted successfully. The possible application of epidermal
cell suspensions in plastic surgery and experimental pathology has been investigated. It is
shown that the use of these cell suspensions offers a practicable method of achieving a high
degree of epithelial coverage on an extensive area of full-thickness skin loss for the
