• Fifty patients with gram-negative lower respiratory tract infections were treated with
intravenous ciprofloxacin to evaluate efficacy and safety. Relationships between individual
pharmacokinetics and clinical and bacteriologic outcome were studied. Ciprofloxacin
concentrations in plasma were determined by high-performance liquid chromatography.
