There was no statistically significant inflammatory infiltrate in the rectum of DSS-treated mice. Quantification of lymphocytes (B220 and CD3ε), neutrophils and eosinophils (Gr-1), and macrophages (F4/80) per crypt-surface unit. Mean values ± SEM were plotted for each group. No statistically significant differences were observed when comparing any of the DSS-treated mice with untreated mice (Student’s t test; P < 0.05).
