The effect of inhibitors on the expression of immunoreactive hBD-3 peptide in wounded skin. Skin slices on days 0 and 4 with and without treatment with TAPI-1, CRM197, and the vehicle for TAPI-1 (DMSO) were stained for hBD-3. Color was developed with fast red chromogen, and Harris hematoxylin was used for counterstaining. Both TAPI-1 and CRM197 were found to inhibit the expression of hBD-3.
