Six-minute walk test. Physical exercise improvement as determined by the achieved walk distance in meters during the 6-minute walk test. Individual data for all eight patients and mean (± SE), starting from base line to week 12 and week 24. After 12 weeks of 200 μg VIP inhaled per day, the physical capacity improved significantly as compared with baseline (P < 0.01) and further improved (P < 0.01) when tested after 24 weeks of treatment.
