Adoptive transfer of CXCR3⁺ leukocytes partially reverses the fibrotic response. CXCR3^–/– mice were injected intravenously with CXCR3⁺ or CXCR3^–/– leukocytes isolated from spleen and LNs. Following bleomycin-induced lung injury, CXCR3⁺ recruitment to the lung on day 7 (A), IFN-γ production at day 1 (B), and hydroxyproline content on day 21 (C) were analyzed. P values are indicated.
