SREBP-1c mRNA level is increased in the differentiated cultures. Type II cells were cultured in 5% RS with and without 10 ng/ml KGF and 10^–8 M Dex in the apical-access system. The mRNA levels were determined by an RPA as described in Methods. The values were normalized to 18S RNA and then compared with the value for 5% RS, which was given a level of 1.
