In situ hybridization of HL mRNA in peritoneal macrophages from apoE-KO and apoE-KO × HL-KO mice. HL mRNA was detected by a mouse HL digoxigenin-labeled antisense riboprobe, visualized by fast red dye in peritoneal macrophages isolated from apoE-KO mice (a). Only background staining was evident in macrophages from apoE-KO × HL-KO mice (c). Hybridization of peritoneal macrophages from apoE-KO and apoE-KO × HL-KO mice with the HL sense (control) riboprobe is shown in (b) and (d), respectively.
